Almost every guitar player, at least those who play electric guitar, has an opinion on the best way to run their guitar setup. Though some players prefer to run straight into their amplifier, others will plug directly into multiple effects or a processor and then into their amp.

So, is a guitar pedal board a good idea? Is there a real benefit? Most professional guitarist will answer with a resounding YES, and for good reason. If you tour, gig or just play out every once in while, setting up and breaking down can be time consuming and downright frustrating. A patch cable there, an A/C adapter here, this pedal, that pedal… it all takes time to put in order…. not to mention the sound checks and rehearsals!

The fact is a well designed and thought out pedal board system helps many players organize their line-up, while making set-up and tear down easy. A good pedal board design usually has a power supply mounted underneath, not to mention being a space saver. And a hard shell or soft case is a worthy investment in protecting your board and gear.

While some pedal board companies mass produce their products, others may powder coat, Tolex or use some other type of distinctive finish. Again, every guitar player has their own opinion, but for many professional guitar players a pedal board makes good sense and is a definite must.
